About the Steel Fixer Position
A Steel Fixer plays an important role in construction projects by preparing, positioning and securing reinforcing steel bars that provide strength and stability to concrete structures. Job Purpose
The main purpose of this position is the assembly and fixing of all types of reinforcing steel bars. The employee will support construction activities by ensuring that steel reinforcement is correctly installed before concrete works are completed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and fix reinforcing steel bars according to project requirements.
- Read and interpret reinforcement and construction drawings.
- Ensure steel fixing work meets required quality standards.
- Check completed work before inspection and handover.
- Work together with construction teams, supervisors and other contractors.
- Follow all occupational health and safety procedures.
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Be prepared to work overtime when required.

Qualifications and Experience Required
- Minimum Grade 11 qualification.
- At least two years experience in a construction environment, specifically steel fixing.
- Previous experience working as a Steel Fixer.
- Knowledge of reinforcing steel installation practices.
- Ability to understand construction drawings and technical details.
Skills and Competencies

Working Conditions
