About the Skills Development Facilitator Role

The Skills Development Facilitator position at SPAR Western Cape focuses on coordinating and enhancing training initiatives aligned with the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS).
The successful candidate will support workforce development strategies, ensure compliance with SETA requirements, and promote continuous learning across departments. This role contributes directly to employee growth, performance improvement, and organizational success.
Key Responsibilities

As a Skills Development Facilitator, your duties will include:
Training Coordination & Programme Management
- Coordinate training initiatives based on operational business needs
- Manage departmental training projects and development programmes
- Facilitation of internal training sessions when required
- Maintain the internal training calendar through the SPAR Academy platform
Compliance & SETA Administration
- Maintain accurate learner records aligned with SDF and SETA compliance standards
- Conduct internal audits and participate in national training audits
- Ensure all training documentation meets regulatory requirements
- Coordinate the annual Training Needs Analysis (TNA) process
Stakeholder Engagement & Support
- Support staff, learners, and management with training-related guidance
- Promote training initiatives across distribution centre teams
- Liaise with accredited training providers
- Strengthen relationships with internal departments and service partners
Reporting & Evaluation
- Compile post-training feedback and evaluation reports
- Monitor training effectiveness through follow-up assessments
- Maintain training registers, certificates, and evaluation documentation
- Track learner performance and development progress
Administration & Documentation
- Handle training-related financial administration (purchase orders and invoices)
- Maintain accurate training compliance records
- Support development planning through Personal Development Plans (PDPs)
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:
Educational Requirements
- Matric certificate (required)
- Facilitator qualification (required)
- Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) qualification (advantageous)
Experience Requirements
- 3–5 years experience in a training environment
- Experience managing learnership programmes
- SETA grant administration experience (mandatory & discretionary grants)
- Training Needs Analysis (TNA) coordination experience
- Workplace learner coaching and performance management experience
Experience in the FMCG industry will be beneficial but is not compulsory.
